A Career That Works

This major is designed to prepare students as problem solvers for systems involving the application, management, and/or marketing of new technologies in agriculture. Graduates may work with businesses that deal with production, processing, and distribution of agricultural commodities and equipment. A degree in ASM will open doors to agribusiness through a wide variety of challenging career opportunities.

Students are instructed in engineering and business principles for preparation as technicallycompetent business persons for professional Careers as:

  • entrepreneurs
  • marketing representatives
  • plant managers or project managers with food processors or farms
  • retail dealers
  • service managers
  • contractors
  • farm and ranch managers

Graduates will find employment opportunities at management levels as area service specialists, product marketing managers, and test and development technicians for equipment companies. Other options include Careers in the production side of agriculture as specialists in improving farm profits and maintaining sound environmental concerns.
